LP45

Simon Davies, Andy Hatherly and Richard Russell began playing music together mid 2006 to form LP45 in an attempt to improve and mix their own ideas with each others. They were then later joined by Murray Wyatt on the Bass and Double Bass to expand the trio into a quartet, which seems to work rather nicely. All being students of music at Coventry University, they have each had experience of being in bands each starting from an early age and hope to be of the highest quality at what they do. The band feels that their sound is refreshing as it is a complete mix of influences and styles. Simon Davies (piano and vocals) is influenced by artist such as Jeff Buckley and Nick Drake, where as guitarist Richard Russell is highly influenced by technical players like Frank Zappa, John Petrucci and Steve Vai, leaving Andy Hatherly on drums and percussion who loves jazz, folk and soul, such as Ray Charles, Jack Johnson and Amos Lee giving the band a rhythm that an audience can really bob along to and most importantly keeping the others in time. The band strive to find interesting ways to write their music, and write from slow ballads to funky, racy tunes, and even include a smidgen of jazz to the fiery concoction. ________________________________________________________contact the band, by sending us a message or emailing smndvs@hotmail.com ________________________________________________________
