TSIEN - AN ECLECTIC MIX OF STUPID

Since 2005, Tsien have been morphing into the musical ensemble you see today. During the past four years, Tsien has evolved from two friends just wasting time in a Birmingham practise room on a Sunday afternoon, into five dedicated musicians with a single desire to share their music with the world. In this space of time new members have joined their ranks, many have left the group and others have returned.

Their unconventional approach to music, combined with a real sense of adventure and a hard practise ethic, has led to the creation of such widely diverse tracks as the dark and brooding Storm at Sea, and the intricate math-rock of Shapes and Patterns.

"It's pretty much the shittest thing I've ever heard! You can't even play in 4/4", commented one bewildered visitor to their practise room.

Tsien's lineup consists of three guitarists (Adam, Kieran and J), drummer (Tim) and bassist (Gilks). They are currently looking to recruit a new vocalist and in the meantime are sharing vocal duties. As guitarist J explains, "We'd rather wait a while to find the right person for the job, rather than settling for someone who isn't going to last the course. We've learnt from our mistakes".

After spending months working hard in their practise room and tailoring their music to be less vocal orientated, they are now returning to showcase new material (before cabin fever sets in).

With glowing reviews from previous gigs still fresh in their minds and a growing loyal fan base, Tsien are determined to succeed where previous incarnations of the band have failed. They fully intend to build on this positive feedback by securing higher profile gigs further afield in order to expose as many people as possible to their music.
