gundogs
"Absolutely sensational band!" Kerrang! Radio
2006 is the Chinese year of the dog...or should that be gundogs? Compared to the likes of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, PJ Harvey, Kings of Leon, and a female fronted Queens of the stone age, Gundogs create a style of music thats propulsive, violent, enticingly melodic and as floor fillingly catchy as anything Franz Ferdinand has produced or ever will produce! Hailing from Birmingham, England, Gundogs consists of Maria Rodriquez (vocals/lead guitar), Leila Antony (vocals/guitar), Chris Croft (drums) and Dave Young (bass). Throughout highlights in their set list, Gundogs deliver a powerful music statement with soundscapes as beautiful and powerful as they are catchy. The band who are all in their early twenties are building what can only be described as a huge buzz in their hometown of Birmingham, and this is sure to spread around the UK. Their reputation is growing by the day and the band are gaining a growing army of fans, including amongst others, band members from The Kooks, Editors, Test-Icicles, Casino, Envy & Other Sins, etc
