Beverley Knight’s career has already seen her win 3 Mobo awards, with yet another nomination last year, as well as several Mercury and Brit Award nominations. She has sung by invitation for a host of celebrated fans including David Bowie, Mohammed Ali, Nelson Mandela and the leaders of the G8.

Beverley is working hard, giving it one hundred percent. Producing her 6th studio album is a job she takes very seriously and the UK’s Soul Queen spent much of 2008 and the early part of this year locked away, writing and recording. Collaborating with the likes of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, (multi Grammy award winning producers of Janet Jackson’s multi million selling albums among many others) Amanda Ghost (co writer of Beyonce and Shakira’s Beautiful Liar), and former collaborators Jimmy Hogarth (Duffy) and Guy Chambers, amongst others, shows that she means business. The results due out late this summer may surprise a few…

Of the upcoming record Knight comments: “With the new album I wanted to shake things up again and basically do exactly what I want! It's a much more contemporary sound than Music City Soul but I’m still always striving for strong songs and great vocals. Keeping things fresh for audiences and fans is crucial and goes hand in hand with stretching myself creatively. Moving things on is a good survival strategy in a notoriously fickle industry too – one of the new songs “Soul Survivor” encapsulates my feelings on that. But above all the free approach to this new record has allowed me to have the most fun I’ve ever had making a record.”
