Walmley Club has been established for over 100 years, steeped in tradition
and proud of our standards.
From the original wooden hut that was the first club building with just
one snooker table, we now boast one of the most modern clubs with nine
snooker tables, a relaxing lounge and a large function suite, all with full air
conditioning. A full history of the club from the beginning to the mid sixties can be found in the download section of the web site
At a time when many pubs and clubs are going out of business we are
bucking the trend and continue to thrive with continuing membership of over
As a club, we aim to provide a wide range of social activities and functions
for our members and their guests and we constantly try and build on the
success. Throughout the year we have regular weekly entertainment in the
function suite with bands and artists playing a variety of music of which
can been seen by taking a look at the forthcoming calendar. Generally the
function suite is used seven nights a week including Dancing Classes, The
Sutton Coldfield Trad Jazz Club on a Wednesday, Free and Easy on a Sunday
and a variety of special events and private bookings on a Friday, with top
class entertainment on a Saturday. We also have this room and the smaller
lounge available for private hire during the day for such things as funeral
wakes, christenings and parties. With our catering kitchen we can also
provide catering from light buffets to full banqueting.
Other activities within the club include snooker where we have three league
teams and what was commented on by Steve Davis as some of the best
tables and club surroundings he had ever seen. We have a league Dominoes
team and also a Table Tennis team that members enjoy the benefit of.
For lovers of live sport we have three large flat screen televisions and a large
screen for the real cinema experience, showing most live football matches
and other sporting events.
As a private members club, we are not open to the general public but
welcome their guests and those who may be considering membership. Details of membership and an application form can be found in the download section of our web site: http://walmleyclub.org/
