Black Country Band Signs With USA Label

04 May 2018

Stourbridge-based quartet Amoeba Teen have been refining their melodic songwriting, lush harmonies and chiming guitars and generally rocking their indie pop and alt country vibe for 20 years now, and the hard work has paid off in the form of a record deal with USA label Kool Kat Musik, based in New Jersey.

Amoeba Teen frontperson Mark Britton said: “Our American fanbase has grown rapidly over the last few months, so it made sense for us to try and do more to get our music heard over there.  Kool Kat Musik approached us after some favourable US reviews, and we were very impressed with their plans to raise our profile both there and beyond.”

Meanwhile, across the pond Kool Kat supremo Ray Gianchetti commented: “Kool Kat Musik has focused on the power pop and alternative country genres for over 20 years. Amoeba Teen are a great fit for the label and should be well-received by our customers."

The start of the year saw the release of their first promo video - directed by our partner site Ryan's Gig Guide's very own Nick J Townshend - for the new single '(Coming On)Stronger', due for release soon, along with their forthcoming album.

In more good news for the band and their admirers, their two previously released albums Selection Box and The Appleyard Sessions are also to be released as a remastered double album in the US.

You can catch the band playing at Claptrap The Venue in Stourbridge on Thursday June 21 in a double bill with The Long Goodbye, and  you can get a FREE download of their 11-track album "SELECTION BOX VOL. 1" from the band's website:  http://www.amoebateen.com
